When I met two LFC Legends.
Finally. Met the legendary Mr Ian Rush yesterday. I had interviewed him over the phone during my time with HT. But meeting him in person was just so awesome! Imagine, one of your favourite players, who created records for the club you love, who is its brand ambassador and an all-round nice guy. Yes, meeting Rushie was one of the biggest moments of my career for me. Until now. Interacted with him for close to 15 minutes. We talked about Liverpool FC and where he expected them to finish this season, the youth academy and the youngsters he would keep an eye on, a possible Champions League qualification and how that could be managed, Kenny Dalglish and John Henry, the online Hillsborough e-petition and how the tragedy continues to live on in Liverpool, even after 21 long years.
Also met Steve McMahon, another Liverpool great, 42nd on the list of 100 Players That Shook the Kop, and Steve Turner, the head of the LFC Academy. The meeting only served to stir up my passion and think about moving to England, maybe trying for a job there. If only that would happen.... I can dream until then.
