So this was my first day at the Chennai Open, held at the SDAT, within comfortable walking distance of my hotel. This was courtesy a friend's brainwave, and it made total sense because now I don't have to travel long distances to and from each day, and can hop over here whenever I wish to. The media centre was a lot more fuller today as we had a pres briefing with Mahesh Bhupathi (his partner Daniel Nestor( pulled out at the last minute citing illness). So Bhupathi took to the dais, there weren't a lot of questions, and we wrapped it up within ten minutes.
Apart from tennis, I had a fantastic day yesterday, a super Sunday in a long time. I met a friend, a Gunner who was extremely enthused about an Arsene Wenger biography he had been gifted by someone. The evening involved a lot of banter, beer, a game of countries and their capitals, loud music, a dinner at a restaurant specialising in sizzlers, watching parts of a QPR-Liverpool match, and laughing a lot. All in all, it was a fabulous time because I haven't laughed like this with someone in quite some time now.
Anyhoo, now I am off to watch a few matches at the Centre Court, where Yuki Bhambri is taking on Robin Haase. Later!
