Worth?
You
broke me so effectively
that five years later,
I still struggle
with any semblance
of confidence
and self-worth.
That every bit of criticism,
justified or otherwise,
feels like
an undeserved barb.
That praise feels hollow
and shallowness
more amplified,
that my brain
feels cheapened,
that my worth
determined
only by so-called hotness
(or lack thereof)
and my physical body.
Lost my value,
lost my face,
lost everything
that made me 'me'.
Now I wander
aimlessly,
still unable
to see myself
through his eyes
or accept the love.
Respect?
I don't know.
Everyone feels I'm a kid.
There's more to me
than just that,
wish one of you
could see it.
