Wimbledon! Woohooo!

What a match! What a match! I was on the edge of my seat, my legs were tingling and shivering. It was an absolute cliffhanger. Novak Djokovic, who had played some flawless tennis in the first two sets, almost choked (ala Arsenal FC and the South African cricket team). After Rafael Nadal, the insurmountable obstacle that he is came back strongly to win the third set 6-1, Novak got back to winning ways in the fourth and final set, playing some excellent shot, going right from the ridiculous to the sublime. Spot on. Great tennis match played out by two extremely sporting athletes who take both victories and losses with a smile on their face and graceful demeanours.

What surprises me is how personal some fans get. This was not about Federer fans supporting Novak because they do not like Nadal, or vice-versa. Much as I adore Federer and want him to win every single Grand Slam, I also respect Nadal for the player that he is --- clinical, ruthless, indomitable, unforgiving, even frightening at times. Idiots, if they cannot look beyond a Federer-Nadal rivalry.
