"Jab We Met..."

I saw Jab We Met yesterday, on a friend's laptop. And totally fell in love with Shahid! I have never really liked him much before, though I always thought he was a cute guy. But yesterday, my whole world changed in a span of three hours (forgive the exaggeration!) And I totally fell for the boyish charms of Shahid in the movie. Or shall I say.... Aditya Kashyap of Jab We Met.

Every girl should have a boyfriend-lover-friend like Aditya. He brings out the best in his girl. He is "an angry young man" initially in the movie, when the girl he loved marries someone else. But with Kareena's expert help, he "flushes" his ex-girlfriend out of his life forever. And, in the process, Aditya Kashyap falls for the innocence and idiocy of Geet!

A boyfriend like Aditya can change anyone's life. He is a true gentleman - chivalrous and caring. He is a sweet, sweet guy. He is good to watch. He is funny and witty. He loves his girl to the hilt. He cares for her. He will go to any extent for her. He is a guy who is totally at ease with Geet's boisterous family and pesky relatives. Aditya is someone you can bring home and tell your parents about. Now how many guys are like that?

Aditya.... I do not know what to say. He is adorable, a sweetheart. You just feel like taking him in your arms and hugging him tightly. The way he understands Geet, the way he puts up with her ridiculous, childish behaviour with a grin on his face (actually he enjoys it...forget the bored, sarcastic expressions on his face!) The way he bosses her at times...is just so sweet. He makes her laugh, he makes her smile, he keeps her happy. He accepts her for who she is. He goes out of his way to bring a smile on her face, he does small romantic things for her. The way he comforts Geet when her world has crumbled around her. The way he helps her "flush out" her good-for-nothing boyfriend. The way he stands up for her. And when he tells Geet that she doesn't look beautiful with tension lines on her face, but glows when she pulls on that stupid girly face....awwwww!!! I simply COULD NOT stop crying. It brought tears to my eyes. Nothing very special, nothing very poetic. A simple line, delivered simply. But with full conviction, and straight from the heart!

And the best part.... Aditya cries. When he says goodbye to Geet, or when he "hands her over" to Anshuman, he pulls off his glasses and wipes away his tears. He is not a wimp, he doesn't have to bawl out loud to convey his pain and anguish. Just a few tears, for the girl he loves with all his heart, are more heart-rending than any sentimental wailings. Such a sensitive guy!!

In short, Aditya Kashyap is:

- sensitive and caring
- a real sweetheart
- a good human being
- a wonderful friend
- good-looking
- warm
- loyal to the girl he loves
- naughty (wink wink!)
- says "I Love You" for no reason whatsoever!
- appreciates his girlfriend

- is a Perfect Boyfriend....!!

Real guys aren't all this. But thanks Mr. Imtiaz Ali, atleast I have a fictional character to look upto now, at times....about all those things that a guy ought to be. But then, real life is immensely different...and Aditya Kashyap is just a figment of someone's imagination! And will stay that way forever!
