It's all about the music, baby.
I know what I have been for the past few months. Music. My collection of music that I had saved in the C drive of my laptop (he was called Alessandro). But then I cracked his screen. He never was the same again and passed out a year back. Should it be passed away? Well, I don't know.
I miss music. I miss the songs. I miss those timeless melodies and lyrics I am never tired of listening. I am eccentric where song selection is concerned. Someday I'll listen to old classics --- Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Queen, Patty Smith, The Beatles (obviously). At other times, I listen to pop stuff, anything that I have heard and liked --- Mika, Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake (some songs), Kelly Clarkson etc. Then I will listen to singers like Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Peter Cincotti, Michael Buble --- those whose soulful songs, gospel-like lyrics and powerful voices transport me to another world. And there are days when I end up listening to soppy, corny, mushy romantic numbers --- Bryan Adams, Backstreet Boys (yes, I do like some of their songs!), Blue, blah blah. And there are times when I'm depressed and out --- that is the time for inspiring numbers that lift me up to another dimension. And there are those romantic days as well --- days when I listen to some nice AR Rehman numbers with Lata and Shreya Ghoshal and their likes.
I have been missing music. Terribly. And that makes me all the more determined to go out and get a new laptop. Maybe along with an internet connection as well. So I can download music and keep listening to it. And this time. I'll save my music in an external hard disk. So if Alessandro II crashes, I don't end up living a lonely life.
