A CUPPA.....
God!!! I have become such a coffee-freak now! I mean, I was always a coffee addict. But now my addiction is crossing all boundaries. Especially when good coffee is free. I have around 10-15 cups of coffee/tea everyday. Whenever we guys go up to the first floor, either to the loo or to give stuff for colour correction or scanning, we end up taking a cup from the small pantry. The coffee vending machine there is almost broken-down and presents a very pitiful sight. And the tea bags are "Assam Twinings"! I have no idea what brand that is. But the tea mixture is very frothy. In fact so frothy that you have to viciously stir the tea-bag in the cup to mix the tea with the drink. Otherwise it is pretty good. On the other hand, the coffee there is awful. And we call it JC or PC. JC stands for 'Journalist Coffee' and PC for 'Patrakaar Coffee'. So if the coffee is moderately good to drink, it's JC. But if it is black and sugarless and just like water, it's PC. Probably because the staff in the first floor doesn't complain about the stuff being doled out to them. But boy! Had I been there, I would have definitely given the pantry boys a piece of my mind!
And then we have the CC. Or the 'Corporate Coffee'. So called because that coffee is available on the second floor in the marketing department where all the corporates and executives and high-flying people in dark business suits-and-ties can be spotted. So the coffe for them has to be upto their standards. And it is a perfect cuppa there!! It is frothy, has the right amount of milk and sugar, and is a delight to sip. In fact, those guys have the privilege of having both a Nescafe and a Georgia machine. Lucky dogs!! Also, the tea bags used in CT (or Corporate Tea) are Tetley bags, one which are available in various flavours like Earl Grey, lemon, etc. God! I am so jealous of those guys! But I also feel victorious! We can march brazenly to the second floor and get our free cups of CC or CC! How many people would do that? When we were coming out of the lobby with cups of CC in our hands the first day, the receptionist very politely (but a tad condescendingly) inquired if we worked at HT. We said we were interning here. And she gave us such a look of scorn and derision that we almost fell through the ground and somehow managed to make our way out of the place. But once out of there, we laughed and laughed and laughed. We thought we could have been really cheeky and asked her did she mean a birthday card when she had inquired about our ID-cards. Wow!! We had a super time that day!
But now, even the guard or the receptionist there have stopped asking us for our IDs as we confidently stride in to get our CCs. And it feels good to cheer yourself up with a delicious cuppa.....I'm loving it!!! :)
