I hate having lunch! Everyday its the same thing! Bread and butter, or cucumber sandwiches....its getting so frustrating! I wish and pray I was at home. Atleast I could have brought a proper "dabba" to work then. With paranthas and sabzi and pickles, etc etc etc. Its so boring just having the same stuff everyday. And its no fun having it. The bread becomes all soggy because of the butter, and sticks to the lower piece....and its just so tasteless to eat! But I have no other choice. I cannot eat from the cafe daily. First, I can't afford it, especially when I am not getting paid and working here for free....sob sob! Second, cafe food is very unhealthy, all oil and spice and ghee and all. I will put on weight which I shouldn't be doing. That is why I have nothing left to do. All the choley bhature, chinese fried rice, naan-sabzi, thali, etc...everything seems to be floating in a pool of oil and an orange-looking fluid. And it totally puts me off! Even though the sandwiches may have turned soggy, they taste kinda okay when you are hungry. And since I have lunch around 5-6 hours after I have had breakfast, I am ravenous by the time we open our dabbas. So it doesn't actually matter what is laid out in front of you. All that matters is satisfying your growling, rumbling stomach. And even those sandwiches taste delicious then! Also, those numerous cups of coffee suffice. It doesn't keep me totally hungry and acts to fill me up whenever I am feeling slightly empty. I have cause to complain, but I have cause to be thankful as well. Because there are millions of people around the world who don't even a morsel of food. That is when I feel blessed for those tastless sandwiches. And stop complaining and relish them with a delight that can be only understood by someone who has not had a proper meal for some days.
